Newton buys PMC to become north east Scotland's largest property factor

Try Dealroom →, a factoring business based in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire. PMC manages more than 10,000 properties and generates annual revenues of around £1.5 million.

Why now? The transaction has received Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulatory approval, clearing the way for completion. It follows a period of growth for Newton.

What's the endgame? The deal strengthens Newton's presence in north east Scotland, where it expects to become the largest property factor with roughly 17,000 properties under management. Across Scotland, its portfolio rises from just under 40,000 to almost 50,000 properties.

By the numbers: The acquisition is expected to lift annual group revenue to approximately £9.5 million during the first year of ownership.

PMC will continue trading under its existing brand. Co-owner Neale Bisset joins Newton's business development team led by board director Rachel Littlejohn, while co-owner Annette Hudson retires.

Bisset cited "cultural alignment" between the two firms as a key factor in the decision to sell.

The signal: The acquisition reflects continued consolidation in Scotland's property factoring market, as Newton uses scale to broaden its contractor network and improve procurement efficiency.
