The largest single close was a ₩107 billion project fund — the National Growth Fund's first private matching direct-investment deal — to back AI chip design firm Rebellions.

What's the endgame? More is planned for the second half of 2026: a ₩300 billion National Growth Fund and a ₩160 billion National Pension Service fund. Including those, Mirae Asset Venture expects to form ₩929 billion in new funds during 2026, its largest annual total on record.

That would push assets under management above ₩2.4 trillion, a roughly 60% jump over its end-2025 figure.

The numbers: The firm's half-year report showed consolidated operating revenue of ₩139.8 billion and operating profit of ₩37.4 billion for the first half of 2026. That operating profit already tops the ₩35.1 billion recorded for all of 2025, driven by portfolio value growth and fund dividend income from high general-partner stakes.

What's the endgame? Mirae Asset Venture is building a portfolio around AI value-chain and deep-tech companies. Its holdings include Rebellions and Moloco — both expected to list in 2027 — alongside domestic firms such as Upstage and Scatter Lab, and overseas names including Cohere, Moonshot AI, Genspark and Agibot.

The signal: As AUM climbs, management and performance fees grow with it, positioning the firm to sustain its earnings momentum. Winning across every major public limited partner in a single year underlines how state-backed capital continues to anchor South Korea's venture funding.
