Solivis raises $16M Series C to scale solid-state battery materials

By the numbers: The round lifts Solivis's total funding to 65.2 billion KRW since 2020. That places this raise in a modest tier — around the 34th percentile by amount for comparable rounds.

What's the endgame? Solivis will use the capital to advance its sulphide-based electrolyte technology, expand production capacity, and strengthen its global business base. It aims to automate its mass-production infrastructure and diversify its high-performance materials lineup to accelerate partnerships with global battery makers.

Why now? The raise coincides with Solivis's selection for two 2026 government support programmes run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups: the "Super Gap Global Deeps" scheme for deep-tech startups and the "Unicorn Bridge" scaleup programme.

The company already runs a 36-tonne-per-year plant in Hoengseong, Gangwon Province, and holds around 150 patents alongside its proprietary "third-generation wet-synthesis mass-production platform."

What the founder says: "This achievement reflects recognition of both our proprietary technology and our growth potential in the global market," said chief executive officer Shin Dong-wook. He added that "as commercialisation of all-solid-state batteries approaches, quality stability and mass-production capacity are emerging as key factors."
