What does Schlafender Hase do? Founded in 2001, the company sells deterministic software that helps drugmakers and medical-device firms detect and eliminate critical errors in documents, packaging, artwork, and labelling. Its flagship product, TVT, supports both on-premise and cloud deployments and serves clients across a heavily regulated industry.

Why now? Rising regulatory requirements, the growing complexity of global packaging and labelling, and the digitisation of compliance workflows are driving long-term demand for verification tools. Maguar cited Schlafender Hase's long-standing customer relationships and feedback describing its software as the "gold standard" for regulatory workflows.

What's the endgame? Alongside existing shareholders and the management team led by André Cerbe and Constantin Dony, Maguar plans to expand the international go-to-market organisation and develop the web-based platform. The company, which employs around 40 people, also aims to move into adjacent regulated industries.

"Schlafender Hase has built an outstanding market position in a technologically demanding and highly regulated environment over more than two decades," said Johannes Losbichler, a partner at Maguar Capital.

Franck Godet, a partner at Wieland Capital, said the firm was "proud" of the company's progress and pleased to remain "significantly invested," adding that Maguar brought software expertise to support international expansion.

The signal: The deal reflects continued private-capital appetite for niche, mission-critical B2B software in regulated markets, where compliance mandates create sticky demand and recurring revenue. For Maguar, Schlafender Hase offers an established specialist with room to scale internationally.
