Financial terms were not disclosed.
What each side brings. Capital City Surgery Center is an 8,250-square-foot facility with two operating rooms and 10 partner physicians, specialising in pain management and orthopedic care. AMSURG runs more than 250 surgery centers nationwide across specialties including gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and orthopedics.
What's the endgame? The Nashville-based operator is expanding through acquisitions, deepening its footprint in existing markets. "We're honored to welcome their physicians and team to the AMSURG network and look forward to partnering with them as they continue growing," said Dina Palmisano, vice president of development at AMSURG.
What changes for patients? Little, for now. The center remains open and is accepting patients as it joins the larger network.
The signal: The deal reflects continued consolidation in the outpatient surgery market, where national operators are buying independent centers to build scale and specialty coverage. For AMSURG, tightening its cluster in Baton Rouge points to a strategy of dominating regional markets rather than spreading thin.
