Inwatec: JENSEN-GROUP takes full ownership

The deal completes a seven-year buildup that began when JENSEN-GROUP took a 30% stake in 2018, followed by a further 40% in 2021.
What each side brings. Inwatec, founded in 2009 in Odense, Denmark, builds highly automated robotics solutions for industrial laundries. JENSEN-GROUP pairs that with its laundry engineering, global sales and service network, and customer relationships.
Why now? Moving from 70% to full ownership is what CEO Jesper Munch Jensen calls “a natural next step” after eight years of collaboration. The company frames it as a commitment to deeper investment in automation, robotics, software and AI.
What's the endgame? JENSEN-GROUP plans to keep integrating robotics and AI across the laundry process to help customers raise productivity and improve working conditions. Inwatec's team will stay on to drive innovation.
“Acquiring the remaining shares is a strong signal that we believe in this direction and want to accelerate it further,” Jensen said.
Inwatec founder Mads Andresen becomes chief innovation officer and COO Europe of JENSEN-GROUP. “Full ownership gives us an even stronger foundation to continue developing the technologies that will shape the laundry of the future,” he said.
The signal. The buyout reflects how industrial incumbents are absorbing the startups that prove out automation and AI, converting partnerships into full control once the technology matures. For customers, the message is continuity — the same team, now under one roof.
