Qodia raises €1.2M to automate private medical billing with AI
What's the deal? German healthtech startup QodiaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has closed a €1.2 million seed round to automate private medical billing in Germany. An investor from the medical industry is participating, though its identity and the round's terms have not been disclosed.
Why now? The round follows approximately €400,000 raised in 2025, bringing Qodia's announced funding to €1.6 million. Qodia launched its first product in December 2025 and reports that its technology is integrated into 11 billing centres.
What it means. Qodia develops software focused on the German Scale of Medical Fees (GOÄ), using AI and a structured ruleset to automate verification steps. Its GOÄ Core covers more than 2,800 codes plus exclusions, surcharges and analogous services. The company offers invoice verification, treatment-documentation-to-code translation and a GOÄ assistant whose answers are validated against the stored ruleset.
The signal. Private medical billing involves high invoice volumes, rising labour costs and a shortage of skilled workers. Qodia is applying automation to a specialised, manual segment of German healthcare.
