Why now? Both investors exercised top-up rights to maintain their respective 9.9% equity stakes, as set out in their investor rights agreements. The move follows previous strategic backing. Closing is expected on or before 17 August 2026, subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.
What it means. Metal Energy is a critical metals explorer focused on copper and gold in Canada. Its flagship NIV project in British Columbia's Toodoggone District began a 6,000m drill programme on 29 June 2026. Proceeds will support general corporate and working capital purposes; the company says it holds more than C$9 million and is fully funded for its 2026 exploration programmes.
