What does it do? Monty Mobile runs application-to-person (A2P) messaging: one-time passwords, transaction alerts, financial notifications, and delivery updates. It operates across 35 African countries through 15 mobile network operator partnerships.
What's the endgame? The company plans to deepen its operator relationships and reach more businesses across the continent. Its markets include the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Why BluePeak? The firm cited Monty Mobile's "scalable, asset-light business model and deep relationships with mobile network operators across Africa," said partner Fulton Shiundu. BluePeak sees a chance to support the company's "next phase of growth."
Founder and chief executive officer Mountasser Hachem called Africa "an important growth market," adding that BluePeak "brings both capital and a strong understanding of African markets."
