What do they do? Electrogenic builds EV powertrains. Founded in 2014, TREMEC Electric GT develops turnkey EV powertrains for low-volume manufacturers and supplies the aftermarket conversion sector with its e-Crate "swap" systems.
The systems in brief: The e-Crate packages are plug-and-play, electrifying a wide variety of vehicles using their existing frame, body, driveline and suspension. TREMEC Electric GT has previously electrified vehicles ranging from classic Porsches to American muscle cars.

What's the endgame? The deal gives Electrogenic a technical centre in Huntington Beach, California, tied to its software-defined vehicle (SDV) development programme. The signal: The acquisition marks a British EV specialist planting roots in the US aftermarket conversion market, betting that classic-car electrification and low-volume manufacturing remain durable niches as the broader industry shifts to electric.
