Why now? "The way organisations capture, track, and act on data across their operations is changing rapidly, and RFID is becoming a foundational technology for improving visibility, automation, and operational accuracy," said Brian Bukowski, chief executive officer and president of DecisionPoint.
What changes for customers? Gary Randall, AB&R's vice president of sales and marketing, said joining DecisionPoint would bring customers "greater scale, expanded resources, and a broader portfolio of solutions" to improve visibility and performance.
The signal: The deal reflects consolidation among enterprise mobility and RFID integrators as demand grows for real-time supply chain visibility. By absorbing a specialist with more than four decades of experience, DecisionPoint is betting that scale and a wider product set will matter more as RFID becomes standard infrastructure for tracking inventory and assets.
