Solaris Energy invests in Deployable Energy
What's the deal? Solaris Energy Infrastructure (NYSE: SEI) has made an equity investment in Deployable EnergyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Houston-based microreactor company, and plans to collaborate on commercialising its small modular reactor (SMR) technology. Solaris disclosed the deal in its second quarter 2026 business update. Financial terms were not disclosed.
What's the endgame? Deployable Energy develops transportable microreactors for defence, industrial, and digital infrastructure applications. Solaris said the investment gives it early exposure to next-generation nuclear technology and will complement its existing generation capabilities.
Why now? Solaris founder and co-CEO Bill Zartler cited Deployable Energy's progress towards first criticality and its supply chain approach as factors behind the deal.
The signal: Solaris, which provides power infrastructure across data centre, energy, and industrial markets, is placing an early bet on nuclear as demand for reliable generation intensifies. Pairing a power infrastructure firm with a microreactor developer signals how the two sectors are converging around the search for dense, deployable energy.
