What's the endgame? Bellante, who is also majority shareholder, framed the deal as the next stage of a multi-year growth plan. "Ora arriva una nuova fase, proseguiremo nel percorso tracciato, puntando su innovazione e territorio," she said, pointing to innovation and local roots as priorities.
Why now? Bellante said belonging to a solid group like Braga Moro had provided the stability to launch ambitious projects, open new business lines, and enter foreign markets. With those foundations set, the company is moving to independence under its own management.
What changes? For Braga Moro, the sale closes a chapter it described as central to the group's growth. "I nostri business si sono integrati perfettamente," said Andrea Passanisi, chief executive officer of Braga Moro, adding that the two companies had built synergies over time.
The signal: The deal is a management-led buyout dressed in acquisition terms — existing executives taking ownership of a mid-sized manufacturer via a dedicated vehicle. It reflects a familiar pattern in Italian industry, where founders and operators reclaim control of niche made-in-Italy businesses to steer their next phase independently.
