Why now? The acquisition unites two longtime sister companies, Pro Reefer and Triple Diamond, under Amerit. It builds on Amerit's earlier investment in refrigerated transportation support through Pro Reefer.

What's the endgame? Amerit is deepening its footprint in Canada. Chief among the targets is refrigerated equipment, which demands consistent uptime and specialised technical service.

"Pro Reefer has continued to demonstrate its market leadership, customer focus, and operational excellence, making it a best-in-class acquisition platform for the Canadian market," said Adam Lev, VP of corporate development at Amerit.

Lev added that the deal "builds on Amerit's and Pro Reefer's growth momentum and represents another important step in our long-term growth strategy."

The signal: Consolidation continues in fleet maintenance, with larger operators absorbing specialised regional providers to widen coverage. For refrigerated carriers, the combined capabilities aim to keep equipment running that cannot afford downtime.
