The company builds a food-native operating system for suppliers, wholesalers and manufacturers, replacing spreadsheets that manage ordering, production, inventory, invoicing and finance.

Why now? The follow-on comes as Platter surpasses £100 million in annual trade processed, with zero customer churn since its mid-2025 launch. It has onboarded over 30 customers, each running roughly £3 million to £10 million in annual trade through the platform.

What's the endgame? Platter targets the UK's roughly 25,000 food and beverage manufacturers, most of them small and still running on custom spreadsheets. Its product spans orders and sales, operations, and finance and invoicing, with automated invoices flowing into Sage and Xero, plus embedded invoice factoring.

What could go wrong? The strategy rests on becoming operational infrastructure rather than a supporting tool. Reaching that depth of adoption across a fragmented market remains the central challenge.

The signal: Verb Ventures principal Alexey Bulygin said the firm invests in operational layers that make trade work. Platter's invoice and end-to-end transaction data could provide a foundation for payments and other embedded services.
