Why now? The deal feeds Emerson's NI Nigel AI, which it calls the industry's first AI built specifically for test and measurement workflows. Glue Studio's technology is set to connect validation workflows, improve traceability, and speed the path from design to verified performance.
What's the endgame? Emerson wants a more software-defined, data-centric test portfolio. Nigel is embedded in NI software and trained in test system design, methods, and data analysis to guide engineers through product development.
What they're saying: Glue Studio brings "highly complementary capabilities that align closely with Emerson's strategy to lead in software-defined test and measurement," said Ritu Favre, group president of test and measurement at Emerson.
The signal: The acquisition shows how established automation players are buying domain-specific AI startups to embed intelligence directly into engineering tools, rather than building it from scratch.
