Why now? Demand is climbing as more countries roll out nationalised lung cancer screening programmes, according to the company. BAC president and chief executive officer Larry Kronick said the market continues to expand as those programmes launch.
What's the endgame? Body Vision aims to improve diagnostic yield during biopsies deep in the lung while keeping costs low. The technology is available in 46 countries through more than 20 distributors, according to Sprim.
The signal: As governments expand lung cancer screening, imaging startups that combine broad distribution with affordable pricing are positioned to reach more patients.
