Sunrise New Energy (E-Power) closes $16M private placement for AI data centre push

What's the deal? Sunrise New Energy, also known as E-Power Inc. (NASDAQ: EPOW), closed a US$16 million private placement on 29 June 2026. The company issued 15,841,585 Class A ordinary shares at US$1.01 per share to a single non-US investor under Regulation S.

What's next? Sunrise New Energy said it will use the proceeds for working capital, investments and general corporate purposes as it advances its AI data centre microgrid project pipeline in North America and its advanced battery materials programmes.

Company context. Through its joint venture, the company operates a graphite anode-material plant in Guizhou Province, China, powered by renewable electricity.
