What does Factbird do? Its hardware-enabled software lets industrial businesses gather, manage, and act on production data to cut downtime and waste. Since 2016, the company has grown to more than 300 customers, with deployments across 40 countries and offices in Denmark and the US.
Why now? Factbird has built a leadership position in digital manufacturing across Europe and North America. Verdane's backing is meant to speed its next growth phase — expanding the product and reaching more markets.
What's the endgame? "Our vision is to make every factory a smart factory, with people firmly in the loop," said Søren Schønnemann, chief executive officer of Factbird. He said customers see an average 19% productivity increase within the first three months.
Why Verdane's interested: "Factbird has developed a unique offering that addresses a clear need among manufacturers seeking greater visibility and control over their operations," said Morten Weicher, a partner at Verdane. He pointed to an "attractive underpenetrated market for factory floor digitalisation."
By the numbers: Verdane has raised €10 billion in capital and made more than 200 investments since 2003. Its team of over 180 professionals operates from seven European cities, including Berlin, Copenhagen, and London.
What's next? The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
The signal: The deal underlines investor appetite for industrial software as manufacturers push to close the gap between production data and action. With factory floor digitalisation still underpenetrated, growth capital is flowing toward companies that promise measurable efficiency gains.
