The Batteries adds Warsaw fund LSW BD 1 to its ultra-thin battery push
What's the deal? The Batteries, a Belarusian-founded developer of ultra-thin lithium-ion batteries for gadgets, has secured a new backer: Warsaw investment fund LSW BD 1, in a late-stage round. Owner Irena Anna Wojciechowska joins alongside co-investors META of Italy, Polish venture firms APER VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and JRH ASI, and InnoEnergyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a body of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
What's the endgame? The company is building lithium-ion cells it says can charge in 15 minutes and last twice as long as conventional batteries, at no higher cost. It completed product research and development in 2020; the remaining stages are pilot and then mass production.
Who's behind it? The Batteries was founded in 2017 by Oleg Tanasevich and Aleksey Starovoitov, alumni of car holding Atlant-M and founders of vacuum-equipment maker StratNanoTek Invest. It is a resident of the Podkarpackie Science & Technology Park Centre Aeropolis in Rzeszów, Poland.
By the numbers: Revenue fell about 15% in 2025 to roughly €360,000, with a loss of about €1.6 million. That matched the 2024 shortfall; the 2023 loss was €1.8 million. The company has run at a loss since 2018.
The signal: A fresh investor stepping in against widening losses and shrinking revenue points to backers still willing to fund the long road from prototype to mass production in advanced batteries.
