Mission Critical Group buys Anchor Automation to expand power infrastructure services

Anchor now operates under the MCG brand while keeping its existing leadership team.
Who's involved? Frisco, Texas-based MCG designs, manufactures, and services modular power solutions — switchgear, e-Houses, power skids, and backup power systems — for data centers, manufacturing plants, and energy infrastructure. It operates more than 18 manufacturing facilities across the US.
What changes? Anchor, based in Florence, South Carolina, brings remote monitoring, controls integration, and system visibility. Together, the companies aim to offer customers a single partner across engineering, manufacturing, commissioning, field services, and lifecycle support.
What's the endgame? MCG is building an end-to-end electrical infrastructure platform. "Our customers are looking for a single partner to support their electrical infrastructure throughout its entire lifecycle," said CEO Jeff Drees.
Anchor CEO Trever Mason said the deal lets his company "continue delivering the automation and connected services expertise that has defined our business" while offering customers "a more complete solution."
The signal: As demand for data center and industrial power capacity grows, buyers increasingly favour vendors that handle everything from design to ongoing monitoring. MCG's move reflects consolidation toward integrated, full-lifecycle offerings in critical power infrastructure.
