Ridgemont buys environmental services firm ENTACT to grow infra portfolio

What each side does: Ridgemont is a middle market private equity investor based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded in 1991, ENTACT serves private and public sector customers across the US, running remediation, restoration, and geotechnical projects.

By the numbers: ENTACT operates from 18 office locations and nearly 50 project sites nationwide, employing about 900 associates. It pairs in-house engineering with self-performance capabilities to execute complex work.

What's the endgame? Ridgemont plans to expand ENTACT's core markets, geographic reach, and service set. The firm slots ENTACT into its environmental, power, and infrastructure services effort within Industrials.

Why it matters: "ENTACT has established itself as a trusted leader in the environmental services sector," said Ryan Jack, partner at Ridgemont. Michael Mandl, a principal at the firm, said the company is "well positioned for its next phase of growth."

ENTACT chief executive officer Scott Chafin and executive vice chairman Dean Pisani called the deal "an exciting new chapter," pledging to "invest in our associates, scale our platform, and deliver best-in-class environmental outcomes."

The signal: Private equity continues to consolidate fragmented environmental and infrastructure services, betting on steady demand for remediation and resilient land and water projects.
