What's the deal? HalmaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has completed the sale of Florida-based NovaBone ProductsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and its subsidiaries to Isto Biologics for $60 million (£45 million) on a cash and debt free basis.

What do they do? NovaBone designs and manufactures orthobiologic products. Isto Biologics is an established orthobiologics business that Halma says has a complementary portfolio.

Why now? A strategic review concluded that NovaBone was "best placed to grow under ownership more closely aligned to its market and investment needs," Halma said.

The FTSE 100 group frames the divestment as part of a "disciplined approach to capital allocation," freeing it to focus on areas with the strongest long-term growth prospects.

What's the endgame? Halma is a group of life-saving technology companies operating across safety, environmental and analysis, and healthcare. It employs more than 9,000 people across over 20 countries.

Group chief executive Marc Ronchetti said Isto's "deep industry expertise and complementary portfolio make it a clear strategic fit for NovaBone," while letting Halma concentrate investment elsewhere.

The signal: The sale reflects a broader pattern among diversified industrial groups: pruning subsidiaries that would benefit from more focused owners, and recycling capital into higher-priority segments.
