Founded by Jim Wardlaw, Matt Gibson, John Polling and Matt Weldon, YardOps builds software that helps fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) firms run their yard logistics more efficiently — spanning booking, gatehouse, shunter coordination, dock management, driver communication and trailer maintenance. Launched as a standalone product in 2025, it is built specifically for UK and EU markets, where most incumbent yard software is designed for larger US sites.

Why it matters: YardOps says its platform cuts vehicle turnaround times — meaning fewer leased vehicles are needed on site — and improves health and safety through more comprehensive operational tracking. The new capital will go toward product development, sales and marketing, and strengthening the senior team as the company expands its customer base across the UK and Europe.
