DeepX raises Series D at $2.2B valuation, quadrupling its worth
What's the deal? South Korean AI chip designer DeepX has secured fresh funding at a valuation of about 3.14 trillion won ($2.2 billion) — roughly four times its previous valuation. The Pangyo-based startup has signed the first tranche of its Series D, raising 42 billion won from existing backers BNW InvestmentDealroom has a profile for this one. How big does it get? DeepX is in talks for additional funding of up to 300 billion won that it aims to raise by September, targeting a post-money valuation of as much as 3.5 trillion won once the round is completed.
What DeepX does. The company designs semiconductor architecture tailored for AI workloads and applications outside the data center, where power and cost efficiency matter most. It has targeted robotics and smarter electronics as key deployment areas. In April 2026 DeepX said it had secured more than 30 mass-production contracts from customers across eight countries.
The signal: A fourfold jump in valuation underscores how hungry investors remain for AI-infrastructure plays — and how DeepX's push into edge AI is translating into commercial traction and South Korea's growing place in the chip race.
