What does Delineate do? Its Proximity platform tracks campaigns and key brand moments in real time across more than 100 markets, letting marketers measure and adjust brand health and campaign performance. Headquartered in Llandysul, Wales, the firm also has offices in London, Atlanta, New York, and Mexico City.
What changes? Little, on paper. Delineate will keep operating independently with its current team and from its current HQ.
The rationale: Constellation runs a 'buying and keeping' model across seven industry verticals, aiming to preserve the culture and legacies of the companies it acquires. Vertus says the deal expands its portfolio into a new vertical — though it already lists private clubs data firm Metrics First, bought in 2015, among its subsidiaries.
What they're saying: Founder and chief executive officer James 'JT' Turner, who returned to the role three years ago, said Delineate could now "accelerate that vision by combining our expertise with their global scale and investment capability." Vertus Group leader Alan Threadgold called the firm "a natural fit for our Group."
The signal: The deal folds a niche research scaleup into one of the world's largest software groups, trading independence for long-term backing and access to a wider network of software companies. For Delineate, the pitch is stability and AI investment without a change in day-to-day control — a pattern Constellation has repeated across hundreds of vertical software acquisitions.
