Angelini's Inversiones Siemel moves to lift stake in RedMegacentro
What's the deal? Inversiones SiemelDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, tied to Chile's Grupo Angelini, has agreed to buy about 7% of warehouse operator RedMegacentro for roughly $38.382 billion Chilean pesos (939,705.64 UF). The deal would lift Angelini's stake and cement its position as the biggest shareholder in a company that has no controller.
The terms: Siemel will pay 0.017034845 UF per share for 55,163,733 shares. The stock comes from Inversiones Fortaleza, linked to Luís Felipe Lehuedé, selling 5.7%, and El Coipo, tied to Gustavo Swett, selling 1.529%.
What could go wrong? The purchase hinges on a shareholders' pact that gives other holders a preferential right to buy the shares first. In January 2025, Angelini sought up to 10% of stock held by EBCO but landed only 4.47% after others exercised that right.
Why now? Angelini has been building its position since entering the company in 2018 with a 23.44% stake, holding 26.60% ahead of second-largest shareholder Fondo de Inversión Link — Inmobiliario I at 23.99%. The firm expects the new deal to close in September 2026.
By the numbers: RedMegacentro, which builds and leases warehouses, posted second-quarter revenue of $49.1 billion pesos, up 2.7% year on year. Quarterly profit reached $17.386 billion pesos, recovering from a $97 million peso loss a year earlier, while first-half earnings jumped 136% to $80.588 billion pesos.
The signal: A steady stake increase by a family holding group points to consolidation in Chile's logistics real estate sector, where warehouse demand underpins improving returns even in a company with no clear controller.
