Snapscale raises seed round for plant-design automation AI
What's the deal? Snapscale, a South Korean startup automating design work in the plant and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) industry, has raised a seed round. Backers include KAIST Youth Startup Investment Holdings, POSTECH HoldingsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and Base Ventures.
What's the endgame? The company builds AutoFlow, a manufacturing-focused generative AI tool that adds a prompt window on top of engineers' existing CAD software. It handles drafting, editing, and reviewing design documents without switching systems, and processes all data inside the client's own infrastructure to ease security concerns.
Why now? Snapscale already has four paying customers and is running proof-of-concept trials with several more, spanning EPC firms, vendors, and public agencies. It plans to use the funding to expand its R&D team and convert those trials into full deployments.
The product was built from in-depth interviews with 75 field engineers. In 2025 Snapscale won the top prize in the pre-startup track of the Chung Ju-yung Entrepreneurship Competition, run by the Asan Nanum Foundation.
What's the vision? Chief executive officer Kim Sang-yun said plant design, which can take years depending on scale, has long been the bottleneck that sets the pace of the entire industry. Snapscale ultimately aims to automate the full EPC cycle, from design through procurement and construction.
