Tongshi Intelligence raises 30M CNY seed round to build visual intelligence system

What's the deal? Tongshi IntelligenceDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has raised 30 million CNY (about $4.4 million) in a seed round, the company said in July 2026. It plans to use the funds to advance its visual general intelligence (VGI) technology.

What's the endgame? The startup is building a full VGI system with three parts: a general visual foundation model, a world simulator combining reconstruction, understanding, generation, and simulation, and a system where multiple foundation models work together.

Why this approach? Tongshi rejects the "brute-force scaling" path of a single large vision model. Instead, it emphasises model collaboration, causal reasoning, and physical consistency.

What's next? The company is speeding up the design and iteration of foundation models such as scene understanding. It aims to deliver whole solutions for embodied intelligence, advanced autonomous driving, and smart terminals.

The signal: The round reflects investor interest in vision-first systems that promise physical grounding over scale alone — a bet that collaboration and reasoning, not size, will unlock the next stage of applied AI.
