Galaxy Lifts buys Majic Stairs to expand motorized home access lineup

What each side brings: Founded in 2016, Majic Stairs makes a fully automated, retractable staircase that replaces the traditional pull-down attic ladder with a walkable stair system featuring dual handrails and a safety railing. Its Majic Attic Lift raises and lowers heavy items between the attic and the space below.
Made in the US, Majic Stairs products serve homeowners, contractors, and builders across the US, Canada, and the Caribbean.
Why now? Majic Stairs has grown mainly through referrals and word of mouth. Under Galaxy, it plans to accelerate investment in product development and digital marketing, strengthen contractor and builder support, and expand its operations.
What's the endgame? The purchase fits Galaxy's focus on motorized access. "Its patented products make attic access and storage safer and easier, and they fit naturally with Galaxy's expertise in motorized access," said Jason Hestekin, president of Galaxy Lifts.
Steve Corun, general manager of Majic Stairs, said Galaxy's "experience and resources will help us build on our momentum."
The signal: The deal advances Canopy Brands' strategy of buying category-leading companies and backing them with long-term investment. Canopy's brands span construction, manufacturing, utilities, security, marine, and residential markets, and together generate more than $200 million in annual revenue.
