What's the endgame? Rather than collecting new data, Marquee connects the internal and external systems clubs already use and turns them into decision-ready insights within seconds. Its proprietary machine learning models consolidate millions of data points into shortlists, 360-degree scout reports, tactical breakdowns, and market analysis, all written in plain language.

Why now? Tracking data, video, scouting reports, and performance metrics generate thousands of data points per player, but much of it sits siloed across platforms. Chief executive officer Dean Bracha says most organisations use just "4 to 15 percent of the information they already have," calling the industry "data rich and decision poor."

Where's the money going? The funding will accelerate research and development and expand hiring across AI, engineering, and data science. Marquee will also open commercial offices in the US and the UK.

What's the traction? Marquee is live with more than 20 professional clubs and federations across several countries, including Tier 1 clubs in the Premier League and Serie A, plus Major League Soccer organisations. Having launched in football, it is now building a basketball platform with National Basketball Association and EuroLeague teams ahead of broader multi-sport expansion.

The signal: Investors are betting that the edge in pro sports lies not in more data but in interpreting it. As Welltech Ventures partner Steven Berelowitz put it, Marquee could become "the foundational intelligence layer for how clubs evaluate talent, build squads and prepare to compete."
