Monetate acquires Simon AI to merge personalization with composable CDP

What's the deal? Monetate, which sells AI-powered digital and omnichannel personalization and experimentation software, has acquired Simon AIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an agentic platform built on an AI-first composable customer data platform (CDP). The companies did not disclose a purchase price.

What each side brings: Monetate's product line spans Symphony for recommendations and 1:1 personalization, Maestro for experimentation, Forte for zero-flicker delivery, Glasshouse for AI governance, and MONET AI, the engine behind them. Simon AI adds a live, warehouse-native unified customer profile that resolves identity across online and offline sources and activates more than 100 marketing channels.

What's the endgame? The combined offering aims to connect on-site personalization to full omnichannel journeys, drawing on real-world signals such as inventory, price changes, breaking news, and localized weather. Both platforms run on cloud-native stacks with zero-copy integration into data clouds including Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery.

What changes for customers? Monetate and Simon AI will keep operating as separate products, with out-of-the-box integrations available now. The deal comes with a growth capital injection, with Monetate saying it will increase investment in product development and services across both platforms.

Steve Maher will serve as chief executive officer of both companies. Simon AI co-founder and CEO Jason Davis will continue to lead Simon AI, described as a Monetate company, working alongside Maher.

What they said: "This is the acquisition our industry has been waiting for," Maher said, adding that brands have long been "promised a single view of the customer and real-time relevance in every channel, and been handed integration projects instead." Davis said the more time the two spent together, "the more obvious it became that our companies were building two halves of the same platform."

The signal: The tie-up reflects a broader push to fold customer data platforms, personalization, and agentic AI into single stacks, as marketing vendors chase the long-promised unified customer view rather than leaving buyers to stitch tools together.
