Perceptron raises $6.5M to source AI data from 800,000-node network

What's the deal? PerceptronDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a decentralised AI data network, has closed a $6.5 million early-stage round to launch a platform that lets AI companies commission specialised datasets from a network of more than 800,000 contributors.

Who's backing it? The round drew a group of Web3 investors, trading firms, and infrastructure partners, including Sigma CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, CoinDCX Ventures, and the Walrus Foundation, alongside Aethir, Colosseum, and several others.

What's the endgame? Perceptron condenses global data collection into a single contributor mesh, letting AI firms and individuals source, verify, and monetise datasets in days. It aims to make real-world data fast enough to access that companies no longer need centralised scraping infrastructure.

What does the product do? The new data-questing platform lets AI companies commission specific datasets directly from Perceptron's community rather than relying only on organically contributed data. Contributors own their data and earnings, and can monetise or withdraw at any time without a third party.

Why now? Perceptron says early traction proves demand. Live agents reached more than 200,000 users across Telegram and Discord in the first phase, growing to over 300,000 daily active users across a network of more than 807,000 nodes.

The funding will also expand contributor tooling and rewards infrastructure and scale the network toward a target of 5 million nodes. Further announcements are expected next quarter.

"We've already shown that mission can become a reality, as evidenced by our ability to scale to hundreds of thousands of nodes organically," said Peter Anthony, UK co-founder and chief executive officer. "Now, with this funding, we are launching our data-questing platform, which will allow AI companies to commission specific, high-value datasets directly from our community."

The signal: At $6.5 million, the round sits in the lower quartile of comparable deals by size. But investors are betting the model can tap niche expertise on demand — "from doctors and lawyers to native speakers," as P2 Ventures analyst Nathan Gurr put it — and become a scalable intelligence layer in the emerging decentralised AI stack.
