Life Science Connect buys PMWC in second event deal within a month

What's the deal? Life Science ConnectDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (LSC), a producer of content, events, and editorial brands for the life science sector, has acquired the Precision Medicine World Conference (PMWC), according to a July 23, 2026 announcement. The move adds PMWC to LSC's network of specialised communities and events. Terms were not disclosed.

Why now? The purchase comes a month after LSC's June 23, 2026 acquisition of CDMO Live and PharmaSource, which it is combining with existing media brands to form a new events division focused on biopharma outsourcing.

Back story: Founded in 2009, PMWC convenes clinicians, researchers, industry leaders, investors, and regulators focused on translating precision medicine into patient care. LSC said the programming aligns with its Drug Discovery, Cell & Gene, Clinical, and RNA communities.

What they're saying: "PMWC has earned its reputation as the 'Davos of Precision Medicine,'" said Jon HowlandDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, chief executive officer of LSC. Tal Behar, co-founder and president of PMWC, said the deal lets it "extend the important conversations that begin at PMWC" while strengthening the in-person experience.

What's the endgame? LSC appears to be building out its events arm. In February 2026, it hired trade show veteran Sandy Voss, formerly senior vice president of operations at Informa, as senior vice president of live events.

Looking ahead: PMWC 2027 is scheduled for January 27–29 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Silicon Valley. Current plans and partnerships remain unchanged, and LSC indicated it plans to bring the conference to the East Coast later in 2027.

The signal: Two acquisitions in a month point to consolidation in life science events, as content-led publishers convert in-person shows into year-round communities across digital channels.
