Independent sponsor Amit Jain buys industrial marketing platform IQS

What's the deal? Independent sponsor Amit Jain of Richmond, Virginia, has acquired Industrial Quick SearchDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (IQS), a Grand Rapids, Michigan industrial sourcing and digital marketing platform. Calder CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → advised on the sale, which closed in June 2026. Terms were not disclosed.

Why now? IQS founder Mike Meiresonne, who built the business starting in 2000, engaged Calder's sell-side team as he planned for retirement. The platform serves manufacturers, distributors, and industrial suppliers.

What's the endgame? Jain, a technology investor, was seeking a technology-enabled business with a proven market position, recurring customer relationships, and growth potential. IQS fits that brief.

"After more than two decades building Industrial Quick Search, I look forward to pursuing new ventures at my leisure and pace," Meiresonne said. He added that he is "certain that IQS will continue to grow" under Jain's leadership.

The process: Calder distributed 309 confidential information memorandums to qualified buyers and received 23 indications of interest before narrowing to multiple letters of intent. The letter of intent was signed in February 2026, and the deal closed within four months.

The signal: The deal reflects steady dealmaking among independent sponsors targeting profitable, founder-owned technology businesses in niche markets. As baby-boomer owners retire, lower-middle-market acquisitions like IQS offer sponsors established platforms with recurring revenue and room to grow.
