Stripe eyes OpenRouter at $10B, 70x the startup's revenue

The numbers. OpenRouter's annualised revenue has reached approximately $140 million, putting the reported acquisition value at roughly 70 times revenue. The company raised $113 million in a Series B led by CapitalG in May 2026 at a reported $1.3 billion valuation.
Why it matters. The reported transaction would give Stripe a model-routing layer alongside its payments and financial infrastructure, while giving OpenRouter access to a company operating at much greater scale. The discussions were not described as a completed transaction.
