Try Dealroom →'s (LED) innovation arm, provided $100,000, matched by private firm Rutledge Ventures.

What's the endgame? TRUE-See builds technology to verify that medical photographs are accurate, colour-calibrated, and certified authentic. It aims to give clinicians images they can trust across specialties such as wound care, dermatology, and reconstructive surgery.

What's the money for? The company will use the capital to accelerate customer implementations, expand electronic health record integrations, and advance its AI-ready clinical image datasets. It is preparing for a larger institutional round.

Why now? Unreliable medical photos — caused by camera errors, inconsistent technique, or tampering — can undermine diagnosis and trigger reimbursement denials, according to the company. "Medical photos are an essential tool for the management of more than 200 medical conditions treated by more than 15 clinical specialties," said chief executive officer Ben Favret.

The signal: As AI takes on a larger role in healthcare, verifiable source images grow more important. "Having accurate, verifiable and trusted medical images will become increasingly important," said Michael Rutledge, manager of Rutledge Ventures — a bet that the data feeding diagnostic tools matters as much as the tools themselves.
