Monorale completes £250K SEIS phase, opens £3.75M EIS raise

What's the deal? UK startup Monorale has completed the initial £250,000 SEIS phase of a planned £4 million round, backed by roughly 40 investors. Founded in 2025, the company is building a multi-model AI platform that gives individuals and organisations one environment to access and manage a fragmented ecosystem of AI models and tools.

Why now? With the SEIS allocation fully subscribed, Monorale is preparing to open the remaining £3.75 million under the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS). The Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme has long encouraged private investment into qualifying early-stage British companies.

What's the endgame? The capital will fund product development, expansion of Monorale's enterprise offering, and international growth. The company is also building infrastructure to serve larger commercial and regulated organisations, where security, governance, and control over sensitive information matter most.

In the founder's words: "Completing the SEIS phase is an important milestone for us," said Alex Wilkinson, founder and chief executive officer. "We've now brought together a core group of around 40 early investors who believe in what we're building and where we believe the enterprise AI market is heading."

The signal: Monorale is betting the future of AI is multi-model, with different systems specialising in reasoning, software development, research, images, or industry tasks. As generative AI investment shifts from models and consumer apps to the platforms businesses build around them, Wilkinson argues that is where "the long-term opportunity exists."
