Dover buys extrusion specialist Cloeren for its MAAG unit

Who are they? Dover is a diversified global manufacturer with annual revenue of over $8 billion and about 24,000 employees, operating across five segments. Cloeren, based in Orange, Texas, near North America's petrochemical and energy export hub, runs additional plants in Marshall, Texas; Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and Micheldorf, Austria.
What's the endgame? The deal adds complementary extrusion technologies to MAAG's portfolio, broadening what it can offer across polymer processing. "Cloeren is a strong strategic fit for MAAG and will further enhance our capabilities in extrusion applications," said Ueli Thuerig, president of MAAG.
Why now? The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
The signal: The acquisition extends Dover's strategy of bolting complementary industrial technologies onto its existing business units. By pairing Cloeren's engineering expertise with MAAG's polymer processing lineup, Dover is betting on a more complete solution for customers running mission-critical equipment.
