Frenos raises $1.52M to expand AI-driven OT security platform

What's the deal? FrenosDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an operational technology (OT) security startup, has raised a $1.52 million seed extension led by MomentaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Exposition VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, with Riptide VenturesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → joining. The round brings total funding to $6.4 million.

What does it do? The Frenos Platform builds a digital twin of a customer's network and runs fully simulated penetration tests that mimic real attacker behaviour, chaining exploits to prioritise the risks that matter — with no hardware, no scanning, and no downtime. Its AI reasoning agent, SAIRA, powers the analysis.

Where's the money going? Frenos will grow its customer success team, which supports a base across critical infrastructure and defence, and expand its AI R&D team. It is also launching SAIRA Co-Work, evolving the reasoning engine into a persistent OT security co-worker that guides users through investigations using live digital twin data.

By the numbers: Annual recurring revenue is up more than 10x since the start of 2025, growing 215% in the first half of 2026. Pipeline is up 2.7x year over year, average deal size is up 5x, and 2026 bookings have already quadrupled full-year 2025 with five months remaining.

In one customer environment, SAIRA analysed more than 12,000 OT vulnerability findings and surfaced the eight that were actually exploitable — cutting remediation noise by 99.9%.

Why now? The OT security market is projected to grow from $27.4 billion in 2026 to $58.9 billion by 2031, according to MarketsandMarkets, as ransomware and cyber-physical threats accelerate alongside IT/OT convergence. In 2026, Google's Threat Intelligence Group reported the first known zero-day exploit developed with AI, warning the tools are lowering the barrier for adversaries.

What they're saying: "Every OT operator has a vulnerability list a mile long. Almost none of it matters," said founder and chief executive officer Brian Proctor. "This funding puts more muscle behind both sides of that promise: hands-on customer success for the operators who depend on us, and deeper AI research behind SAIRA."

The signal: Despite the momentum, the $1.52 million round sits in the bottom half of comparable raises by size. The modest extension suggests Frenos is topping up rather than making a big bet — a targeted round to keep pace with demand as AI reshapes both attack and defence in industrial security.
