Ordero raises €150K pre-seed to expand meal-ordering platform into Poland
What's the deal? Lithuanian startup Ordero has raised €150,000 in a pre-seed round led by FirstpickDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Lost AstronautDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. The company plans to use the money to expand into Poland.
What's the endgame? Ordero runs a platform that streamlines meal ordering, connecting parents, education institutions, and catering providers in one system. Parents can order, adjust, or cancel meals through an app and flag allergies, while caterers get more accurate demand forecasts and schools avoid last-minute changes and losses.
Traction: More than 100 partners in Lithuania already use the platform, including Vaikystės sodas, Vitlio licėjus, Šiaurės licėjus, Montessori akademija, KD International, and various businesses.
Why now? The founders built Ordero after spotting the problem firsthand. "Each of us on the team had the chance to observe up close how startups emerge and develop in different fields," said co-founder Nedas Šapalas.
Investors cited the team as much as the results. "The most promising early-stage startups are usually born where founders solve a familiar, everyday problem they've seen up close," said Marius Burgaila, co-founder and head of Lost Astronaut, adding the product "has the potential to become a standard for the whole sector."
Firstpick partner Marijus Andrijauskas said he had used Ordero as a customer. "The best investments often start from personal experience," he said, noting the model could move into other markets.
The signal: The round fits a broader push by the backers. Firstpick and Lost Astronaut aim to invest in 100 early-stage startups over the next three years, with an average cheque of about €100,000 — a signal of thickening early-stage funding activity in the Baltics.
