Try Dealroom →, marking its first move into the South West of England. Terms were not disclosed. Sam and Katy Gooding will continue to lead the team.
Who's involved? Founded in 2014 by Sam Gooding, Gooding Accounts is a technology-led practice serving businesses across Wiltshire, from startups to owner managers. It moved to a new office on White Horse Business Park in July 2025.
The strategic rationale: DJH now employs almost 900 people across 20 offices in the UK and Ireland. The deal gives Gooding's clients access to specialist services — including inheritance tax planning, audit, capital allowances, and wealth management.
Why now? "Joining DJH is the right move at the right time," said Sam Gooding. "We are ambitious, and moving into a larger group gives us the platform to go further." Chief executive Scott Heath said the South West had been "firmly on our radar," describing Gooding as "technically strong, client-focused, and with a culture that matches our own."
The signal: The acquisition reflects a broader consolidation trend in UK accountancy, as private equity-backed groups expand regionally by absorbing smaller, well-run practices — combining national scale with locally led advice.
