Try Dealroom →, operator of the inbound-tourist medical guidance platform Travelers Hospital (known as "Torahos"), into the SEVENRICH GROUPDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →. What does Torahos do? The Tokyo-based platform connects foreign visitors with suitable clinics and pharmacies in Japan under the concept "the same peace of mind you'd have at home, even while travelling." It partners with more than 400 hotels, tourism operators, medical institutions, and pharmacies, and has served several thousand foreign patients.
How it works: Torahos guides patients to appropriate providers and publishes multilingual content explaining Japan's medical system and how to seek care. Consultations and prescriptions are handled by partner clinics, not the platform.
What changes? Under SEVENRICH GROUP, Medi-Engine gains access to management support, back-office functions, AI tools, and marketing resources. The group aims to strengthen Torahos's network of medical institutions, insurers, and tourism operators, and to expand across Japan's major destinations.
Why now? As inbound visitor numbers rise, language and system barriers to healthcare access have become a shared challenge for Japanese tourism and medicine. "This is not merely a medical support service," said Kenzo Hattori, chief executive officer of SEVENRICH CAPITAL, framing Torahos as an attempt to build "new medical infrastructure" that opens Japanese healthcare to the world.
What's the endgame? Medi-Engine plans to widen its partner-clinic network, deepen ties with hotels and travel operators, and use AI to upgrade its consultation operations. The stated goal is a smoother medical experience for both tourists and foreign residents.
The signal: SEVENRICH CAPITAL, founded in July 2025 to back growth and succession-focused deals, is assembling a portfolio spanning food manufacturing, healthcare, and marketing. Adding a medical-tourism platform reflects a bet that inbound demand will keep pushing Japan to build services around foreign visitors.
