Vingroup billionaire couple lifts LPBank stake to 9.85% with $304M purchase

Why now? The move follows her husband's own June 23, 2026 purchase of a 4.89% stake for VND6.7 trillion, according to Vietcap Securities. That stake has since risen in value to almost VND7.7 trillion.
What changes? Together, the couple now owns 9.85% of LPBank. The only other shareholder above 1% is Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPost), with 6.53%.
Huong ranks as Vietnam's third-richest billionaire with a net worth of $3.7 billion, behind her husband ($32.7 billion) and VietJet AirDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao ($3.9 billion). She holds a master's degree in international law from Ukraine, owns 4.4% of Vingroup, and chairs Green SM, the ride-hailing company founded by Vuong.
By the numbers: LPBank's total assets stand at VND605.585 trillion and are projected to grow 1.6% in 2026. Its shares are up 32% since the start of 2026.
The signal: The paired stake purchases concentrate ownership of a mid-sized Vietnamese lender in the hands of the country's most prominent business family, giving the Vingroup founders a near-10% foothold in the banking sector.
