Pairidex raises $4.9M seed to commercialise blood-cancer MRD test

What's the deal? PairidexDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a St. Louis, Missouri-based cancer precision diagnostics startup, closed a $4.89 million seed round. The company did not name its investors but said the round was oversubscribed. The seed was led by BioGenerator Ventures, which announced its lead investment earlier in 2026.

What's the endgame? The money will accelerate commercialisation of FusionMRD, an RNA-based droplet digital PCR blood test for monitoring minimal residual disease in gene fusion-driven blood cancers. Funds will also back clinical studies, commercial expansion, lab operations, and continued development of the company's molecular diagnostics platform.

How it works: The lab-developed test is patient-specific and initially focused on acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). It is already commercially available from Pairidex's CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited lab, and can be used in the roughly 50% of AML patients whose disease is driven by a gene fusion.

Why it matters: "This investment enables us to bring FusionMRD into clinical practice, where we believe it can enable real-time treatment decision-making for patients with fusion-driven blood cancers by providing more sensitive and accurate disease detection with a less invasive test," said cofounder and chief science officer Andrew YoungDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →.

The signal: At $4.89 million, the round sits in roughly the 29th percentile by size — a modest seed that reflects the capital-efficient, lab-first path many diagnostics startups take, proving a commercial test before chasing scale.
