Almunajem Foods commits $63M to lift Al-Jouf Agriculture stake to 20%

What's the deal? Almunajem FoodsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has signed a binding subscription agreement to invest $63 million in Al-Jouf Agriculture Development Co., raising its stake in the Saudi agricultural producer to 20.29% from 8.30%.

Under the terms, Almunajem will subscribe to 4,500,000 new shares issued through a capital increase, priced at SAR 52.50 per share for a total of SAR 236.25 million. Preemptive rights are suspended for the raise.

Why now? The agreement follows Almunajem's February 2, 2026 announcement of its intent to invest in Al-Jouf. In June 2026, Almunajem shareholders approved several strategic financial measures and related-party transactions.

What's the endgame? The deal includes provisions to reconstitute Al-Jouf's board of directors once the investment completes, giving Almunajem greater influence over the producer.

What could go wrong? The transaction still needs regulatory clearance from the Capital Market Authority and Tadawul, plus approval from Al-Jouf's extraordinary general meeting.

The signal: The move marks a step-up from Almunajem's earlier position, more than doubling its holding in a single deal. It reflects a broader push by Saudi food distributors to secure upstream agricultural supply through equity stakes.
