Multiverse Computing raising up to $570M Series C at $1.7B target valuation

What's the deal? Spain's Multiverse Computing is raising a Series C round of up to €500 million ($570 million), targeting a valuation of around €1.5 billion. As part of the still-open round, the Spanish government — through the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT), known as Sepi Digital — is investing €107 million. Forgepoint Capital International, the BNPP Solar Impulse Venture Fund (BNP Paribas Asset Management), and Bullhound Capital are co-leading the round, with Santander and HP among the backers.

Why it stands out: The targeted valuation of around €1.5 billion would cement Multiverse as one of Spain's newest unicorns. SETT's €107 million cheque follows its €59.2 million backing of the company's €189 million Series B in June 2025, deploying Next Generation EU funds through its Next Tech facility to bolster European deep-tech sovereignty.

What does the company do? Multiverse's CompactifAI technology compresses large language models by 80% to 95% while maintaining accuracy. That cuts energy consumption and lowers the cost of running AI across industries.

What's the money for? Multiverse plans to expand its library of efficient models and develop new algorithms, and to invest in sovereign AI infrastructure.

Where next? The company aims to build a stronger regional presence in key markets, including East Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Canada, and the United States. The expansion follows directly from the capital being raised.

The signal: Investor appetite is shifting toward AI that runs leaner. As model sizes and energy demands climb, backers are betting on compression as a route to cheaper, more sustainable deployment — and writing outsized cheques to fund it.
