EcoBuddy lands 10M INR seed from LetsVenture at ASCEND J&K summit

The commitment came out of ASCEND J&K 2026, the largest startup summit yet held in Jammu and Kashmir.

What does it do? Founded by Muhammad Farukh Usman, EcoBuddy provides technology-driven waste-management solutions and eco-friendly packaging materials, targeting environmental and sustainability challenges.

Who backed it? LetsVenture, a technology-enabled platform for early-stage startup investment across sectors, led the round. The firm's involvement is a notable vote of confidence in ventures emerging from the Union Territory.

Why now? The two-day summit, held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre and organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute, wrapped up on July 24. Twenty local startups pitched to 14 investors and investment networks, and seven were shortlisted for further due diligence.

EcoBuddy was one of two startups to secure commitments at the event. The other, Curve ElectricDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, attracted funding from Build3 Accelerator and angel investor Komal Nailwal.

The signal: The summit points to growing investor appetite for startups from Jammu and Kashmir, a region still building out its innovation ecosystem. Backing from an established platform like LetsVenture suggests national investors are beginning to look beyond India's traditional startup hubs.
