Dertour buys out DSR Hotel Holding, taking full control of 34 hotels

What's the endgame? DSR Hotel Holding operates 34 resort hotels in Germany, Austria, and Italy, employing more than 2,700 people. Its portfolio includes five-star properties such as the "Neptun" in Rostock and the "Louis C. Jacob" in Hamburg, plus the brands A-Rosa Hotels, Aja, Henri, Urban Nature, and Mira.
Why now? The holding began in 2021 as a joint venture between Rewe Group and Deutsche Seereederei, which contributed 16 hotels. Dertour had already raised its stake to 74.9% in 2024 and now plans to take over the rest in August 2026.
What changes? Deutsche Seereederei exits the hotel business entirely with the sale. "We are handing over a successfully built hotel business into good hands," said Horst Rahe, its managing partner. Rahe and fellow Hamburg entrepreneur Nikolaus H. Schües bought the shipping line from the Treuhandanstalt in 1993.
The signal: Full ownership lets Dertour consolidate a growing resort portfolio under one roof, tightening the Rewe travel arm's control over branded holiday accommodation across three countries.
