Flotek Group buys Clear Telecom in 16th deal since 2022
What's the deal? Welsh IT and communications provider Flotek GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired Essex-based Clear Telecom, expanding its managed IT presence across Essex and London. Terms were not disclosed.
Who's involved? Founded in 2003, Clear Telecom offers IT support, hosted VoIP, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams telephony, business phone systems, mobile, broadband, and leased lines. It will keep operating from its Essex base under co-owners Barbara and John Malone.
Why now? The deal is Bridgend-based Flotek's 16th acquisition since the company was founded in 2022. Chief executive Jay Ball has publicly detailed the firm's acquisition strategy at Insider's Dealmakers Breakfast event.
Expanding reach: Beyond adding customers, the acquisition pushes Flotek deeper into Essex and the wider South East, giving Clear Telecom's partners access to a broader range of services. "This acquisition is an important step in expanding our managed IT presence across Essex and the wider South East," Ball said.
What's the endgame? Flotek is building a one-stop technology group as IT and communications converge. "We know that IT and communications are increasingly coming together, and that more businesses want to bring their technology services under one provider," the Malones said.
The signal: Serial buyers like Flotek are consolidating the fragmented UK managed services market, rolling up long-established regional operators to build national scale.
